Primary Care and Vaccination
It's important to take your pet to the vet regularly for scheduled vaccinations and check ups. Primary care for pets is just as important as primary care for people.
Dog Primary Care Plan ($30-$40)
Primary care plan includes all necessary vaccinations, deworming, and a basic physical examination.
Cat Primary Care Plan ($30-40)
Primary care plan includes all necessary vaccinations, deworming, and a basic physical examination.
Spay/Neuter Services (V) ($75+) (Male cats: $50)
Saipan Cares holds spay/neuter clinics when we have visiting veterinarian on island. Please contact us for more information on when the next visiting vet will be on Saipan, Tinian, or Rota.
Amputations (V)
Amputation may be necessary if your pet has severely injured a limb, or if a wound has become infected. We will schedule your pet for an amputation if needed when the next visiting veterinarian arrives.
Other Basic Surgery (V)
All surgeries at SCA are done by our visiting veterinarians. Please contact us to see when the next visiting vet will be on island.
Emergency Medical Care
If an animal needs emergency medical care, please call Beth on her cellphone at (670)285-5448. She will help you assess the situation and advise on what immediate treatment might be needed. Emergencies receive priority, and will be taken outside of clinic hours. Staff are usually present at the shelter from 8:30am - 5pm, but it is always better to call ahead if possible.
Sometimes it can be hard to understand how your pet might be feeling. Here are some things you can look out for that might indicate an emergency situation:
  • Not eating for more than 1 day
  • Lethargy (tiredness)
  • Pale or white gums
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Breathing very fast or shallow
  • Blood in urine or feces
  • Bleeding out of the eyes, nose, mouth, anus, or genitals
Trust your gut. You know how your pet usually acts. If they seem like they might be uncomfortable or in pain, bring them into the clinic for a checkup.
Mange treatment ($10-20)
De-worming (Included with Cat/Dog Primary Care Plan)
Flea and tick prevention (By weight)
