Saipan Cares for Animals (SCA) is a rescue clinic serving the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas (CNMI). We offer low-cost medical services including spay/neuter surgery, flea and tick prevention, grooming, and emergency care if your pet is injured or sick. We also rescue injured abandoned animals and care for them until they are ready to adopt.
We are comprised of a dedicated group of volunteers whose mission is to improve the life of every dog and cat on Saipan through sterilization, medication, and socialization.
CLINIC SERVICES UPDATE
We are still out of dog vaccines and Bravecto! We are expecting our vaccine shipment within the next couple of days and will announce when we have them. You can still pre-pay for Bravecto in the clinic or through Paypal (if you want to pre-pay by Paypal you MUST message us on Facebook first to discuss the price).
We have also updated our social distancing protocols due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. These protocols will be in place until further notice.
When you arrive at the clinic, you may enter through the front gate. You will be asked to sign in and wait either in our waiting area or in your vehicle until it is your turn to be seen.
Please observe 6 feet social distancing
Only one person per animal will be allowed into the facility
Please wear a face mask
If you need to buy de-worming medication or flea/tick prevention for an adult dog or cat, you do not need to bring them into the clinic. These medications are given by weight, so if you know how much your pet weighs you can pick it up and administer it to your pet at home.
Emergencies will continue to be accepted outside of clinic hours. Please CALL BETH at 285-5448 if your pet is experiencing a medical emergency.
One of our Bravecto shipments has arrived! We currently have Bravecto in stock, but it is likely to sell out fast. You can purchase Bravecto from SCA during clinic hours: 12-3pm. If you know how much your dogs weigh, call from the parking lot and tell our staff and they will bring your order out to your car. If you don't know how much your dogs weigh, try to estimate. If you have to bring your dog in to get weighed, you will have to wait in line for your turn to come into the clinic and will not get expedited service.
Please also be advised that we do NOT offer temporary flea and tick prevention for free when we have Bravecto in stock. The purpose of giving out free temporary protection when we are out of Bravecto is to keep your dogs healthy while we wait for the shipment - it is not meant to be used as a long term flea and tick prevention and we will charge for it when Bravecto is in stock.
We will update you when we have sold out of Bravecto, but we are expecting more shipments soon so you'll have a chance to purchase some in the near future!
We are also OUT of dog vaccines. The shipment left the US this morning and should be here in the next three days (hopefully) but we will post an update when they arrive so keep an eye on the facebook page and the website.
We have a small stock of dog vaccines (courtesy of Tinian Animal Lovers!) so if your dog is due for a BOOSTER SHOT please come in. We are not starting any new vaccinations at this time and will keep you updated on our shipments of vaccines and Bravecto when we get more information.
We learned this morning that our shipment of dog vaccines was lost in transit. This means that we have had to order more today which will result in a further delay in getting them to the clinic. We are not exactly sure when to expect this shipment but will post updates when we have an estimate of when they might arrive. WE STILL HAVE CAT VACCINES.
Still no word on the Bravecto shipment. We placed another order this week from a different company, which may get here sooner than the original order (which was placed in March). We are still offering the temporary topical ointment which works for 7-10 days.
We have dog and cat dewormer in stock. Remember that you should get your puppies dewormed starting at 2 weeks old. We generally include the deworming as part of the vaccine package, but you should bring your puppies in to get dewormed even though we don't have vaccines. Adult dogs and cats need to be dewormed every month - which you can do at home.
Thank you everyone for bearing with us through this. It's just as frustrating to us as it is to you that we are having so many problems with shipping.
We would also like to remind everyone to keep an eye out for the symptoms of EHRLICHIA (also known as Tick Disease).
Loss of appetite
